My friends and I are probably the biggest breakfast lovers worldwide. For us, a huge brekky really is the most important meal of the day.
We visited a lot of different places in NYC, however two breakfast places really stood out to us turned into our places to go.
Also, I really want to introduce you to my all time favorite lunch spot and a really nice restaurant to go for dinner.
Two Hands NYC
Two Hands NYC is a tiny restaurant located in Chinatown. If you go there, plan in a little extra time as you often have to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. The wait is definitely worth it though. I can highly recommend the Acaí Bowl and the My Way or Nice N Easy smoothie. The bowl comes with granola, cacao nibs and blueberries on top. If you prefer a savory breakfast the avacoda toast with scrumbled eggs on top is highly recommendable.
The Butcher’s Daughter is like food heaven for people who have to eat dairy free because even the cream cheese is a vegan. So my highlight is to eat a bagel with a lot of cream cheese. The coconut parfait is also great. The Butcher’s Daughter is in Kenmare Street in Little Italy / SOHO. Just around the corner you can find the street art of the big wings that are popular for example on Instagram. Search for the hashtag #whatliftsyou.
Two years ago, it was recommended to me to try Ruby’s Cafe. Ever since my first visit I have been addicted to their Tuscan Kale Salad and herb fries and love to let other people in on the (not so much) secret of this super delicious hot spot in Mulberry Street or to take my friends there. A tiny spot with super relaxed waitresses and interesting people to hang out with to have a little break during a huge shopping trip in SOHO.
Bonus: Go there on a Saturday to check out my beloved jewelry stands in Prince Street.
The Beatrice Inn
I found The Beatrice Inn when I was looking for hot spots to go during Fashion Week NY and randomly stumbled upon this restaurant specializing in new American cuisine in the West Village. It’s quite pricey but a nice place for a romantic dinner for two.
The truffle fries are legendary and it feels like nearly every man in the restaurant orders the Beatrice Inn 45 Day Dry Aged Burger, which you can see on the picture below. Now for me, that is something deserving of the hashtag #foodporn. In the end we went for the Black Kale Salad that has a nice smoky flavour, the Seasonal Market Vegetables, the famous burger and of course the Herb Truffle Fries.
Enjoy your meal!
